Safety and responsibility
At ElämysPoro, our main goal is that every guest has a safe and carefree experience on our trips and farm visits. We have mapped out potential risks and ensured that the experiences are always carried out on the terms of the reindeer, nature and our customers.
Safety
Safety is taken as far as possible in our experiences. Our local knowledge and long experience in reindeer herding ensure that unexpected situations in the terrain or weather are minimized. All facilities, equipment and devices used are inspected regularly, and maintenance and upkeep are properly taken care of. Tours are always carried out in small groups so that we can guarantee personal guidance and a safe environment for each guest.

Food product processing and sales
The meat is processed and cut by a reindeer herder who has completed a basic qualification in the food industry – a meat product manufacturer. We follow special rules when selling reindeer meat and other products.
care regarding hygiene and maintaining the cold chain. We operate as direct sales from our own farm, so we do not send products by mail. Most of the meat is inspected by a veterinarian, some is skinned directly on the farm, so inspection is not required. Only limited quantities are sold per year, so we can ensure the quality, safety and authenticity of the products.
Health and hygiene on trips
Every trip we take has a nurse who specializes in nursing and care, so help is close by. We follow the guidelines of the Finnish government and the Lapland Hospital District for disease prevention and safety. We use hand sanitizer and ensure the disinfection of equipment and the hand hygiene of our staff. On trips we always operate in small groups, and we ask guests to come only if they are healthy. This way we ensure that the experiences are safe and comfortable for everyone.
If you have any questions about security, you can always contact us. We are happy to answer all your questions.
